As I stated yesterday, the farm has been sold.
While I'm not really surprised since my cousin, Molly, my aunt, and my uncle are moving to Missouri in the spring, I'm still sad. My aunt and uncle's middle son and his wife will basically be "trading" houses. Middle Cousin (the one that had cancer) will move here and my aunt and uncle will move to their place in Missouri. I haven't heard good things about his wife (I've spent a total of 5 minutes with the woman, total) but I'm hoping she won't be a problem.
The farm has been sold to another farmer who is going to use it for storage and the fields for crops. So while it won't technically look different, it will be completely and totally different. Our home sits on a half acre lot on the farm. That means everything beside and behind us will now belong to someone else.
The uncertainty of what that will mean is what bothers me. What about the barn cats? Are they still allowed to live on the farm or will they have to find somewhere on our property to sleep? Can LMK and I go kitten hunting in the spring/summer or will we be considered tresspassing? Will they continue to harvest the fruit bushes and trees behind our house? If they don't, am I allowed to go over and pick what is edible? Will anything be edible? What are they going to do with Molly and Cousin's trailer? The one right, behind our house. I'm going to have a BIG problem with strangers living that close to me (and being able to look in my windows from their living room). Do I still need to mow Molly's yard? Will they want me to mow all the farm? Can we still use the tennis court? Will they keep the tennis court?
Did I mention Middle Cousin's Wife has goats? I hate goats. Goats are evil. Goats are mean.
Why? Well, I'm glad you asked...but that's a story for another day.
